Arizona native Dr. Cody Tillinghast earned his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Arizona and his medical degree at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, where he also did his residency in orthopedic surgery. He completed a fellowship in spine surgery at Emory University in Atlanta. 

Dr. Tillinghast specializes in orthopedic spine surgery, surgical and nonsurgical care of trauma and fractures, herniated discs and pinched nerves, degenerative disease such as stenosis and myelopathy, scoliosis and deformity and revision procedures. He is experienced in using both navigation and robotics technology to assist in optimizing surgical results.

His patient-centered approach to practice focuses on individual treatment plans that provide compassionate care and achieve the best outcomes. Dr. Tillinghast’s patients describe him as an extremely professional, smart and caring physician who takes time to listen to them and fully explain care options. He also speaks Spanish.

An assistant professor at McGovern Medical School, Dr. Tillinghast is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and AO Spine North America and North American Spine Society.

In his spare time, Dr. Tillinghast enjoys sports, exercise, reading and travel.
