Dr. Pauline Filipek earned her medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. She completed residencies in pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, Massachusetts, and in child neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Board certified in pediatrics and pediatric neurology, Dr. Filipek’s clinical interests are autism spectrum (ASD) and other developmental disorders. She treats patients from infancy with a focus on younger children. In practice since 1986, Dr. Filipek moved to Houston in 2009. She has been recognized with the Regional Center of Orange County, California, SPOTLIGHT Award “for outstanding service to people with developmental disabilities.”

Dr. Filipek’s practice philosophy centers on listening to parents’ concerns about their child and empowering them to help a child with autism spectrum and other developmental disorders. Her practice continues to follow all patients after diagnosis, providing advocacy to promote the best and most appropriate interventions for children with ASD and other developmental disorders. Hallmarks of her practice style are listening to the parents, extensive knowledge about interventions and other services and what should be included in their child’s plan, and willingness to work to obtain the most appropriate services possible.
