Dr. Tawfiq Alam, MD

T. Gordy Alam, MD, is a gastroenterologist serving patients ages 18 and up. Board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine, Dr. Alam earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, Texas. He completed his internship and residency at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center at New Orleans, La. He completed his fellowship at the Tulane University School of Medicine.

For over 22 years, Dr. Alam has been treating patients for a variety of ailments, including Crohn’s disease, colitis, hepatology, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and issues with the gallbladder and liver. In addition, he offers colon cancer screenings as well as upper endoscopies (EGD) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatographies (ERCP).

His patients value Dr. Alam’s compassion and caring nature and often enjoy same-day appointments and flexible scheduling of procedures, which are offered every morning, Monday through Friday.

In his spare time, Dr. Alam enjoys playing tennis or golf, and likes watching athletic events. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his wife, son and daughter.
