Dr. Marc F. Catalano graduated Phi Beta Kappa from
Rutgers University in New Jersey. He then earned his medical degree and
completed his residency and fellowship training at The University of Texas
Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. He completed an additional fellowship in advanced
endoscopy at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Board certified
in gastroenterology, his clinical interests include general gastroenterology,
advanced pancreatic biliary endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic
suturing, pancreatic disease, acute/chronic pancreatitis, cystic neoplasm and
sphincter of oddi dysfunction. Fluent in Italian and Spanish, he treats
patients 14 years and older.
Dr. Catalano has
served as an assistant professor of medicine and associate director of endoscopy at Temple
University in Philadelphia, Penn., and as an associate clinical professor of
medicine and director of advanced endoscopy training at Medical College of
Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wis.. He is an internationally recognized medical
expert and research pioneer in pancreatic biliary endoscopy, endoscopic
ultrasound and endoscopic suturing.
A former
associate editor of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Dr. Catalano has authored more
than 400 published articles in peer-reviewed journals and has been an invited
lecturer at more than 100 seminars and conferences. He was named Wisconsin
Governor of the American College of Gastroenterology and has been featured in
the “Best Doctors of America” publication for the last 21 years.
Dr. Catalano has been honored by advancement
into fellowships by the American College of Physicians, American Society of
Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American College of Gastroenterology, and the
American Gastroenterological Association
Living near
Hermann Park, Dr. Catalano and his wife have two children. Away from the office
he enjoys sports, travel, music, the theater and politics.
