Our mission is to help you align your physical being with your true gender identity, so you can experience the life you were meant to live. Whether your next chapter includes male-to-female or female-to-male surgical procedures, the highly skilled physicians at Memorial Hermann are ready to help you complete your transition and achieve your health goals.
Gender-Affirmation Surgical Program
The team at Memorial Hermann, led by renowned surgeon Daniel J. Freet, MD, provides a full range of gender-affirming care, including facial and chest surgeries, vaginoplasty, metoidioplasty and phalloplasty. We adhere to the guidelines set forth by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) to provide leading-edge surgical procedures with high quality patient experience.
Our multidisciplinary approach begins with getting to know each patient as a unique individual. This is not a one-size-fits-all program. We listen intently to understand where each person is coming from, where they want to be, and how we can work together to achieve the best possible outcome.
Along with surgical procedures, we incorporate all of the other essential health care elements of the transition journey. By collaborating with disciplines like urology, gynecology and primary care, we provide a complete, holistic process.
