The voice program provides comprehensive medical and surgical treatment of patients with voice and swallowing disorders. The program treats patients with a broad range of disorders from hoarseness and injured voice to neurologic diseases of the head and neck.
A collaborative effort between Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center and the Texas Voice Performance Institute (TVPI) at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), this comprehensive voice program is led by a fellowship-trained laryngologist. Skilled at caring for patients who are considered poor candidates for general anesthesia due to physical condition, this team can perform a variety of procedures on patients while awake to determine whether a need for further surgery under general anesthesia exists.
