Johnson Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center houses a scope of heart and vascular services that rivals the most advanced cardiovascular treatment institutions in the world. At Memorial Hermann, we pride ourselves in a pharmacy practice model that supports advanced integration of clinical pharmacy specialists within several focused clinical services practicing in the institution. This practice model fosters extensive pharmacy collaboration with both physician and nursing staff in the context of patient care, quality improvement and clinical research. The cardiology pharmacy resident will have ample opportunity to network with other residents, clinicians and academic faculty within Memorial Hermann and other Texas Medical Center institutions.
PGY2 Cardiology Pharmacy Residents will be exposed to a broad range of experiences and activities intended to build the skills necessary to practice as a cardiology clinical pharmacy specialist in an acute care setting. Residents are required to complete rotations in each of the following areas:

Residents will gain additional experiences necessary to be a successful clinical pharmacy specialist through completion of several additional activities including but not limited to:
Stipend: | Approximately $55,000 |
Vacation: | 10 days plus 7 holidays (Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day) |
Meetings: | Financial support is offered to attend the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions & Expo. |

Applicants considered for a position will be invited for an on-site interview at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center during January or February. Applicants will be given a tour of the facilities and will have a chance to meet with the Residency Program Director, clinical pharmacy staff, and current pharmacy residents.
