The affiliated team at the Women’s Center is committed to improving the health and wellness of all women and their babies. With our partners in the Division of Obstetric Anesthesiology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, the Women’s Center earned the Center of Excellence designation from the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) in 2022. This achievement is awarded in recognition of excellence in obstetric anesthesia care.
At the Women’s Center, the obstetric anesthesia physicians from UTHealth Houston provide comprehensive, specialized care to patients, including those with high-risk obstetrical problems, to help keep moms and their babies safe and comfortable before, during and after delivery. The team also encourages patients and families to learn more about anesthesia care during the labor and delivery journey and recommends patients review educational resources available to them, including helpful brochures and flyers provided by SOAP as well as answers to common questions related to breastfeeding and anesthesia. Working together with nurses and physicians in related specialties, our affiliated team continues to strive to provide all patients with the best possible care.
