Event Description

The prostate is a small gland that is part of the male reproductive system. It sits just below the bladder and in front of the rectum. The prostate is normally about the size of a walnut. The prostate is composed of several lobes or zones, covered by an outer layer of tissue. The prostate surrounds the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder through the penis and outside the body.

During this one-hour lecture you will learn how to prepare for an upcoming prostatectomy. Education includes: proper bowel and bladder health, self-assessment tools, tips for preparing for surgery and what to expect after surgery.

This class will provide initial instruction in a home exercise program to prepare you for surgery and the first 7-10 days post-op.

The session will conclude with Q and A session to address any further questions or concerns.
