Volunteering is as rewarding to the volunteer as it is beneficial to the patients, families, visitors and staff.
The Adult Volunteer Program is our year round program. This program is best suited for long-term volunteers that want to serve the hospital and its patients. Adult volunteers (minimum of 18 years old) are asked to commit to volunteering four hours a week for a minimum of one year.
Volunteers are educated about the importance of ethics and confidentiality, professional behavior and appearance, proper patient interaction, including age-specific competencies, universal precautions, infection control, fire safety and security.
If this program sounds like the opportunity you have been looking for, please contact the volunteer office via email at Jeanie.Mathews@memorialhermann.org to request an application.
Summer Program: This program is open to both high school (minimum age of 15 years old) and college students (18 to 24 years old and pursuing a career in healthcare). The next summer program will begin June 2022 and run through August 2022. Applications will be accepted March 1-31, 2022. Once the application process is closed, the volunteer staff will review and select candidates based on their applications in order to set up an interview. Please note that receipt of an application does not guarantee an acceptance. This program is in high demand and closes very quickly each year.
Please contact the volunteer office via email at Jeanie.Mathews@memorialhermann.org after March 1, 2022, or check back for a link to the Student Summer Program application.
