As a community stroke-support facility, Memorial Hermann Pearland is equipped to rapidly diagnose and treat stroke victims. The stroke program at Memorial Hermann Pearland also benefits from close affiliation with Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital and the Mischer Neuroscience Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. Both are certified Comprehensive Stroke Centers, and patients can be easily transferred to either hospital if a higher level of care is required. The comprehensive stroke team consists of affiliated neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, emergency medicine physicians, hospitalists, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, dietitians and speech therapists.
In collaboration with Mischer Neuroscience Associates, the telemedicine program at Memorial Hermann Pearland allows affiliated neurologists to observe patients remotely and assist with treatment. Patients have real-time access to unparalleled stroke care and leading neurological expertise around the clock, all with the familiar comfort and life-saving capabilities of their own community hospital.
As part of the Memorial Hermann Health System, Memorial Hermann Pearland draws on the extensive clinical resources of its sister hospitals across the city, including the Memorial Hermann - Texas Medical Center and the highly acclaimed Mischer Neuroscience Institute. In cases where additional treatment is critical, 24/7 Life Flight transportation is available with a team including an EMT and nurse.
For the youngest neurology patients, treatment is coordinated with the Children's Neuroscience Center at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, a recognized leader in the diagnosis and treatment of brain tumors, also provides treatment for children with a range of neurological disorders such as spasticity, brain tumors, movement disorders, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, head injuries, craniosynostosis, and spina bifida.
The Memorial Hermann Mischer Neuroscience Institute at the Texas Medical Center extends its neuroscience expertise and capabilities through Mischer Neuroscience Associates (MNA), with outpatient clinics located across the Greater Houston area. The Institute’s infrastructure includes more than 90 nationally recognized clinicians.
