Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital offers inpatient rehabilitation in a licensed, 18-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 8th floor of the hospital.

The following patients may be appropriate for one of the Memorial Hermann Community Inpatient Rehabilitation Units:
An individualized and comprehensive treatment program is designed by the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) interdisciplinary team to meet the specific needs of each patient. The inpatient rehabilitation team consists of the physicians, the patient, the family, physical therapists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologist, social worker, case managers, clinical dietitian and 24-hour nursing services.
An individualized rehabilitation program is developed to promote independence and safety so that the patient can return to a productive and fulfilling life. The PM&R physician collaborates with the patient’s other physicians.
Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital offers inpatient rehabilitation in a licensed, 18-bed, acute inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 8th floor of the hospital.
The inpatient rehabilitation unit at Memorial Hermann Southwest is designed to help patients reach the highest level of independence following an injury or illness. We provide rehabilitative care for individuals with many different debilitating injuries, illnesses and other serious medical conditions. Our patients benefit from the highly specialized care provided through our inpatient rehabilitation programs for patients 18 years of age and older.
The inpatient rehabilitation unit at Memorial Hermann Southwest is committed to bringing comprehensive rehabilitation services to the Bay area. Although the majority of our referrals come from acute-care hospitals, we also receive referral from other sources, - including, but not limited to, physician offices and skilled nursing facilities.
Each patient admitted to the inpatient rehabilitation unit is expected to have a diagnosis/condition which is known to benefit from comprehensive rehabilitation intervention. Functional limitations may include any of the following:

Although the majority of our referrals come from acute-care hospitals, we also receive referral from other sources, - including, but not limited to, physician offices and skilled nursing facilities.
Funding sources may include private insurance, worker’s compensation, government programs (i.e., Medicare) and self-pay. In addition, charity care can be provided in accordance with the appropriate guidelines.
