Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in Summer Creek Celebrates 10^th Anniversary

The last decade has been a time of incredible growth and expansion in the Humble, Kingwood and Atascocita areas, and Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in Summer Creek has grown right along with the community, providing quality health care to local families for the past 10 years.

In 2013, the Convenient Care Center opened its doors to fill an important need, giving neighbors one-stop access to a wide range of the quality health care services Memorial Hermann Health System is known for, in a single location, right in their own backyards. In 2013, the Convenient Care Center saw 19 emergency-room patients per day. During the last 10 years, that number has grown more than 50%.

“Our top-notch physicians, nurses and staff are truly dedicated to each patient,” said Andrea Faz, vice president, Ambulatory Services, Memorial Hermann Health System. “It is the ability to provide personalized care for our community, that is both innovative and compassionate, that leads to our consistently high marks in patient satisfaction.”

Since its opening, the Convenient Care Center in Summer Creek has been dedicated to making the health care process simpler and more convenient by providing emergency care, primary care and diagnostic imaging, including X-ray and ultrasound technology, all under one roof.

“I have been here since we broke ground 10 years ago, and I can’t imagine caring for patients anywhere else. This is the community where I grew up, and it is my home,” said Doan Do, MD, family medicine physician. “Having a highly trained staff and the latest technology to run diagnostic tests in the same building gives patients access to truly comprehensive care. It saves them time and hassle so they can get the care they need and get back to living their lives.”

Looking forward, the Convenient Care Center is ready to continue to meet the area’s explosive population growth. As increasing numbers of people are moving to the area, Memorial Hermann is adding health care providers and expanding resources, staying committed to its patient-centered principles as a trusted leader in Greater Houston.

“We see about 100 patients each day in the Convenient Care Center emergency room, which is more than many small community hospitals can accommodate,” said Nikki Roux, vice president and chief operating officer, Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital. “Our reputation for quality care without compromise is what brings patients to the center because families know they can count on us to deliver the care they need. The physicians are ready to diagnose and treat adults and children onsite, knowing that we can easily transfer patients to one of our hospitals if more advanced care is needed.”

After a decade of serving local families, the Convenient Care Center is ready for another 10 years (and beyond). “Our vision was to create a healthier community, and we have been doing that since day one,” Roux said. “We are proud of the work we have done and are looking forward to many more years of caring for our community.”
