Dr. Joel Rodriguez, MD

Dr. Joel Rodriguez earned his medical degree at Universidad Central Del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He completed his residency at Houston Methodist Hospital and a fellowship at Sports Medicine Associates of San Antonio.

Dr. Rodriguez, who has been in practice since 2014, is board certified in two areas: family medicine and primary care sports medicine. He sees patients of all ages and also speaks Spanish. His primary clinical interests include sports medicine, ultrasound-guided Injections, minor trauma, sports injuries and pain management.

An emphasis on empathy and a caring, patient-centered approach guide Dr. Rodriguez’s philosophy of care. His practice offers advanced imaging and ultrasound-guided injection, which is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, including tendonitis, bursitis, arthritis, hip impingement and shoulder impingement. Patients appreciate the time he takes with them and his ability to help them relax during procedures.

Dr. Rodriguez is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

A resident of west Houston, Dr. Rodriguez is married and has a growing family. Away from his practice, he enjoys soccer, golf and fishing.
