Dr. Alan J. Rechter graduated magna cum laude from Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth in Houston, where he served as chief resident.  He then completed an AO International Fellowship in Germany focusing on trauma, hand and joint reconstructive surgery.

Board certified in orthopedics and orthopedic sports medicine, Dr. Rechter has practiced medicine in Houston since 1995. His practice encompasses all aspects of orthopedic surgery and his clinical interests include sports injuries, joint replacement, trauma, pediatrics and hand surgery. Dr. Rechter serves on the faculty of McGovern Medical School.

Dr. Rechter strives to provide the best treatment for his patients using state-of-the-art facilities. His patients appreciate his personal attention and good bedside manner coupled with his excellent diagnosis and surgical skills. He treats patients of all ages.

Dr. Rechter has a son and daughter. In his time away from the office, he enjoys golf, fishing and surfing.
