Native Houstonian Dr. Yesenia Blancas earned her medical degree at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Blancas began practicing in 2012. Her primary clinical interests are pregnancy, family planning, preventive women's health, fertility concerns, perimenopause, menopause, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, gynecological surgery, minimally invasive surgery and laparoscopic surgery. She treats women of all ages and speaks Spanish.

Dr. Blancas enjoys getting to know her patients and caring for them at different points in their lives. She helps patients feel comfortable about voicing their concerns and makes sure to provide the most accurate and up-to-date clinical advice and treatment. She is committed to caring for Houston’s diverse patient populations and has been active in sharing women’s health information via local media.

Dr. Blancas is married and the mother of a son. Away from her practice, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, running, indoor cycling and yoga. A dog lover, she and her family share their household with a labradoodle.
