Dr. Sooyoung Hwang, MD

Dr. Sooyoung Hwang was born and raised in Houston, TX. After graduating from Stratford High School, she went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Harvard University. She then moved to New York, where she received her medical degree from New York University, and then completed her residency at North Shore University Hospital.

Dr. Hwang then joined the faculty at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center. After five fulfilling years working for the under served population of northern Manhattan, she decided to return home to Houston.

Dr. Hwang became board certified in 2012, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is committed to helping her patients make well-informed decisions about their health care. Dr. Hwang speaks English and Korean.

When she’s not working, Dr. Hwang enjoys spending time with her son and daughter, jogging, cooking, knitting, and reading. She is also an active member of her church and the local elementary school PTA.
