Dr. Maheswary Jegatheswaran earned her medical degree at the University of Jaffna in Sri Lanka. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center/One Brooklyn Health System in New York and a fellowship in hospital medicine at the University of Toronto.
Board certified in internal medicine, Dr. Jegatheswaran is a member of the American College of Physicians. She has been in practice since 1993 and treats patients ages 15 and older.
Her primary clinical interests are anxiety, allergies, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), back pain, cancer prevention, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), depression, diabetic care, endocrine disorders, family medicine, geriatrics, heart disease, health risk assessments, healthy lifestyle counseling, immunization, nutrition and weight control, pap smear, primary care, preventative care, smoking cessation, urgent care and weight loss.
